A cheapish holiday to Bulgaria. It wasn’t our favourite, but nice to get some sun
But we had a couple of nice meals out away from the All Inclusive hoards. We also had a nice day trip to Old town and a cheeky Catamaran cruise.
After hitting our Maldives absolute high we ventured to this rather basic all-inclusive hotel, we regularly had to venture out into town just to find a restaurant where we could dine in peace. Fortunately, the holiday had some serious high notes that saved the week.
We took a trip to the ancient town of Nessebar, a breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage site situated on a rocky peninsula. Wandering its narrow cobblestone streets, admiring the unique 18th-century wooden houses, and exploring the centuries-old Byzantine ruins was absolutely fascinating and beautiful.
We followed that up with a beautifully warm, relaxing catamaran cruise across the Black Sea, soaking up the gorgeous coastal breeze. To top off the trip, we braved a ‘classic’ show at Sunny Beach—it was pure, unadulterated tackiness, but incredibly fun! It certainly wasn’t the Maldives, but it was still a great escape.
