Cola grew up with this double album so jumped at the chance to book tickets.
We arrived early to get a parking space and took a wander up the strip. Brighton is looking at a little shabby. We also came across a huge Free Palestine walking protest followed by a VERY small Israel protest…
We ate in Napoli’s Italian restaurant in the lanes, we’re sure we ate there a few years ago, but this time it was mediocre at best and the service was chaotic – I guess we should have looked at Tripadvisor…. We live and learn.
We followed on with an absolutely fantastic Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of the Worlds – The Spirit of Man Tour. Rooster didn’t know what to expect, but was amazed at the performance and the energy. With Jeff Wayne conducting the full orchestra and some amazing talent of Charlie Simpson, Rou Reynolds, Max George, Maisie Smith, Nathan James, and Anna-Marie Wayne. Would we see it again, absolutely.
We arrived for an early lunch on a Saturday when it wasn’t busy and there seemed to be chaos all around. The staff looked like they had been plucked from the local university, some of them didn’t know each other. They didn’t know which tables were which.
There were constant conversations about where the tables were and who had ordered what. We watched as they had to dash out for cucumbers, tell customers they didn’t have this and that. We had calamari but had to ask for mayonnaise as it was bland.
My pizza came out a long time before my husband’s pasta. I don’t like eating when he’s not got his but didn’t have a choice. The base was burnt and difficult to cut. Upstairs gives a flavour of the place, very neglected, toilets could do we a refurb.
Simply FANTASTIC
