Pull out 2 large frying pans & a measuring jug. Wash produce.
Ingredients
(Serves 2, halve ingredients for I)
160g green beans
1 pepper
1 tbsp sesame oil (sesame)
280g British beef mince
2 spring onions
4 tbsp Asian paste (soya) – can use Sriracha
25g honey
250g steamed brown basmati rice (Packet uncle bens rice)
1 tsp black sesame seeds (sesame)
Cooking method
Get started
Trim the green beans and cut into thirds. Thinly slice the pepper
Heat a large frying pan with half the sesame oil on high heat. Once hot, add the beef, green beans and pepper. Season with salt and pepper
Cook for 5 mins, breaking the beef up with a wooden spoon, until golden brown
Combine the flavours
Meanwhile, thinly slice the spring onions, keeping the green and white parts separate
Add the Asian paste, honey, spring onion whites and 50ml water (25ml for | person) to the pan. Cook for
3-4 mins, until the veg and beef are cooked
Heat up the rice
Heat the other large frying pan on medium-high heat. Once hot, add the rice and break it up with a wooden spoon. Add a splash of water and cook for 2-3 mins, until piping hot
Stir the remaining sesame oil through the rice and season with a pinch of salt
Plate up
Share the beef stir-fry between bowls, with the rice alongside. Garnish with the spring onion greens and sesame seeds
