South Cornwall

“Our secret honeymoon haven of delight…”

Cola found this amazing place – The Dell converted fishing cottage. It was a little Spenny, but well, it was our honeymoon. We were not disappointed, beautiful, secluded and the weather was FANTASTIC. Such a good omen for the future.

Destination Information

Torpoint

Situated in southeast Cornwall across the River Tamar from Plymouth, the area around Torpoint is known as the Rame Peninsula—often called Cornwall’s “Forgotten Corner”. Connected to Plymouth via the historic Torpoint chain ferry, this tranquil coastal region features sweeping estuary views, rugged headlands, and golden beaches.

Key attractions include Mount Edgcumbe Country Park, an 865-acre estate with Grade I listed gardens overlooking Plymouth Sound, and Antony House, an 18th-century National Trust property featured in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. Visitors can also explore the picturesque fishing villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, dramatic cliffs at Rame Head, and long sandy stretches along Whitsand Bay.
