After a long flight from Heathrow we finally arrived at Jakarta via Bangkok.  All went smoothly with no missed connections and no lost luggage.
After a couple of days we met the rest of the team (and our guide Bebez), Will from NY, Sam from Australia, Brad & Marilyn from Vancouver, Mike from Australia, Lesley & Jeffrey from Australia and finally Mike and Kathy from Denver.
We were taken to see some local sites including the local port, this was followed by something to eat and a tour of the crazy town.
Next day was a minibus trip to Bandung took us to a local restaurant.  It reminded us of the Soda in Costa Rica, chaos, so much food and lots of fly’s.
A few of us went to see an event put on by local school kids, it was a wayang golek puppet show (which was average) followed by a musical and dance performance by the kids which was fantastic.
The next day we had a seven hour train journey to YOGYA, we were a little nervous, but it was one of the most comfortable journeys ever.
